The new mobile Devil May Cry game, known as Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat, is undergoing beta testing in China. During this period, it was also announced that Lady from Devil May Cry 3 will be making an appearance as a playable character.

Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat takes the combo-raking, hack-and-slash gameplay we all know and love, and packages it into a neat mobile title. Graphically, it looks to be heavily-inspired by Devil May Cry 4, with some of the UI elements from the most recent game in the title, Devil May Cry V.

Series protagonist was revealed to be the main character of the game, sporting a much younger look than before, much closer to his appearance in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening. Gameplay-wise, he retains his signature combos using his sword, Rebellion, and twin handguns, Ebony and Ivory.

Various trailers for the game have shown off that the game does an excellent recreation of the franchise’s combat mechanics on mobile devices, with face buttons for each weapon displayed onscreen.

Story-wise, while it still is unclear whether this game is canon or a spin-off, does show the return of Dante’s brother, Vergil, and some other unnamed antagonists terrorising the world through demonic means.

Courtesy of MMO Culture, we now know that Lady, Dante’s ally from Devil May Cry 3 onwards, will be coming to the game as a playable character. Her fighting style is very familiar to those who played Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, as she utilises a variety of firearms to juggle enemies in the air and take them out from afar.

With Lady appearing in the game, we wouldn’t be surprised to see other series regulars’, like Trish, Nero, and Vergil, being added as playable characters later down the line.

Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat is currently undergoing beta testing in China, hopefully, we get a release date for the region soon.
